Pegasus Consult GmbH is a management consultancy based in Cologne with nationwide and international operations. Why do many strategies only work on paper?
Because between concept and implementation there is usually a decisive gap: people. A strategy that is not understood, supported and lived by those involved remains theory. That is why we work with the people in the company from the very beginning, not just with the management level. That is the difference between a report that sits on a shelf and a change that truly takes hold.
Why do change projects fail despite good concepts?
In most cases, not because of the concept, but because of a lack of consistency in implementation. Change costs energy, creates resistance and requires endurance. Many projects lose momentum precisely when things get difficult. We deliberately stay close during these phases because we know that this is exactly where success or failure is decided
How closely are our employees involved in the process?
As closely as possible. Change that happens over the heads of employees fails sooner or later. We speak with people at all levels, from the assembly line worker to the board member, and ensure that those affected become those involved. This creates acceptance and makes results sustainable.
How do we know that the collaboration was successful?
We clarify this already in the goal-setting conversation. For us, success is not a gut feeling, but something that manifests in concrete changes in everyday work. Does the new structure work? Do leaders act differently? Do teams collaborate better? We ask ourselves these questions together with our clients, from the very beginning and not just at the end.
What typical mistakes do you see in companies?
Three patterns are particularly common. First: change is treated as a project, not as a process. When the budget is spent, the matter is considered done — whether the change has taken hold or not. Second: leaders are sent into change processes without being prepared themselves. Third: external consulting replaces internal thinking instead of strengthening it. We work specifically to break all three patterns.
Do you only work in Cologne and the Rhineland?
No. Cologne and the Rhineland are our home base, but we consult nationwide as well as internationally. Clients from Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg and other locations are part of our client base, as are corporations with European or global structures.
Do you also offer coaching for individual leaders?
Yes. In addition to larger leadership development programmes, we also offer individual coaching for leaders, for example as development coaching for high-potential individuals or as accompanying coaching during change processes.
